Jon Olsson Invitational – Day 4 from Fredrik Magnusson on Vimeo.

The best jump ever made!

I know its not a very humble thing to say, but I think that its a fact so I am going to go ahead and do it anyway!

This was Russ' forth jump on the kicker and pretty bad weather. Its huge but its just so super easy to hit! 4 more guys went upside down more then twice so I think tonight is going to be insane. David and David made a kick ass job shaping this baby!

3 jumps, best one count. 7 move on to finals! Let the games begin!

JOI Big Air 2012

Concept:

Another year, another opportunity for new tricks to get thrown! Last year we made history at JOI where we saw the first ever triples get made at a Big Air event, something that was huge for me as we have always strived to build the best kickers. This year I am sure that the madness will continue as we plan to make the jump even better! In terms of the event it self there will be no major changes as I feel that everyone was very happy last year, we will just keep on fine tuning all the details of the event to make the event better for spectators and skiers.

Invite system:

New for this year is the invite system. There is a lot of ways to make room for newcomers at an event, most of these ways are done by videoqual. We will do that too, we will keep the same breakdown as last year, making sure that 50% of the competitors make it in via a video qual system, but we will add a factor that you usually dont see. 50% of the skiers that qual through videos for JOI this year will be skiers that has not been to event in the past. Its time to really make sure that there is a lot of new guys in there! More info on how this will work exactly will be released after new years. In total there will be 30 skiers at JOI.

Format:

I have yet to set the format for this year, will work on this together with the skiers through out the winter and update the site as soon as we have worked out the best way to decided who is the best skier.

Can't wait for April to come around!
